Which Photos Help With a Clearing Estimate?
Start where the machine would enter
Take one wide picture from a safe position at the entrance, then another looking back toward it from the work area if you can reach it safely. A close photo of brush says little about whether a machine can pass the gate, take the first turn or reach the back of the property. Give actual measurements separately.
Show what you want to keep
Photograph the full clearing area and then the edge where vegetation should stay. Label the pictures with plain descriptions such as “looking toward the back fence” and “oaks to retain.” A picture that shows only a tree trunk leaves the contractor guessing which side will be cleared.
Photograph the handoff
If you want debris removed, show the route between the pile and the loading area. If the land will be mowed, show existing stumps and the surface near the opening. Send the intended use with the photos. The contractor can then identify what still calls for a site visit before providing a firm price.
