How to Read a Clearing Boundary Sketch

Find the line that controls the price

Start at the gate or driveway and trace the proposed clearing line back to that entrance. Can you identify the start and end on the ground? A line following an old fence can look precise on paper even when the fence stops short of the property corner. If ownership or the boundary is uncertain, pause that part of the scope until it is resolved.

Mark the spaces inside the line

Draw a separate outline around every tree island or screening strip you want to retain. A five-acre parcel with a path down one side calls for a different quote than clearing everything inside the parcel line. Show the contractor which outline you used to estimate square footage or acreage.

Walk through a change on paper first

Suppose the loader cannot turn through the planned gate. Draw the proposed alternate approach and check whether it crosses a retained area or requires permission. Agree on any change in writing before work moves outside the original footprint. Keep the dated sketch with the proposal so both refer to the same version.

Plan the rest of your clearing project.

Request a clearing estimate

Tell us where the property is and what you want the ground ready for. We will call to talk through the scope.
